What is a DMV Hearing and When Do I Need One?A DMV hearing is an administrative proceeding at which the DMV determines whether or not to suspend or revoke your driver’s license. Most often, DMV hearings are associated with an arrest for a DUI. After you have been arrested for a DUI, you have 10 days to schedule a DMV hearing where you will have a chance to make arguments to keep your license from being suspended or revoked. The DMV hearing is a separate proceeding from a criminal court hearing.
